What is cached data?
The cache is simply information and data stored in your device that helps to reopen apps faster. For example, profile pictures are saved in your device so that every time you open Instagram, profile pics can load much faster because they're already stored locally on your tablet.
Over time, this data starts building up and if an app has minor quirks or if it's feeling sluggish, it often helps to clean the cache to start fresh and delete any old or problematic files. It's perfectly safe to delete cached data.
How to clear cached data of apps on your tablet
- Start by swiping down from the top of the screen and tapping the icon.
- Go to Apps & Notifications
- Tap App info
- Search for the offending app and press on it.
- Click on Storage.
- Now tap Clear Cache.
Done! Pretty easy, wasn't it?
